The Monday Music Medicine Show..Songs That Get Stuck In Your Head…..

Welcome To The Monday Music Medicine Show

I first heard this song about 3 years ago in a movie hubby and I happen to come across while channel-surfing called THe Lightkeepers with Richard Dreyfuss and Blythe Danner. It’s become one of our favorites…of course I ordered my own copy of it. We like to watch it on a rainy night with a bottle or wine…..anyway….I’m always humming or belting it out……………

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2015 WEEK #35

Cee’s Share Your World
What made you feel good this week?  What did it for me was getting pictures texted to me of my grandchildren. I LOVE getting an unexpected picture and/or text in the middle of my day…..though I live 6 hours away, they keep me feeling connected….my granddaughter Emily spent the weekend riding in the mud…my grandson Landon started soccer….and Mason and Jemma just get to look cute! ❤️ I’m so totally Blessed!

For potlucks or parties do you cook it yourself, buy from a grocery store, or pay for catering? I usually make a dessert……the last time I did so I made the Pioneer Woman’s Brownies….OMG…out of this world!

Pioneer Woman’s Mocha Brownies

What is your favorite part of the town/city you live in. And what Country do you live?  I live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, on a small island called Chincoteague…(beautiful land across the water) .  For me, my favorite part of living here is living by the water…..we’ve got marsh lands, the wildlife refuge and beach….I’ll always be a ‘come here’, but I’m a ‘Teager’ in Spirit.

Complete this sentence: My favorite place in the whole world…..There is no place I’d rather be than by my mans side. My hubby is my home. As long as I’m breathing, he’s where I want to be………❤️

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  I’m grateful for the cooler temps we had so I was able to turn the AC off and open the windows for a few days….don’t get me wrong, I’m also grateful we have AC when the temps and humidity are killer……..I’m looking forward to the 3 day weekend, my son is coming down with his family…I get to be mom and nana for a few days!!!!

Daily Prompt….Would You Drink From The Fountain Of Youth?!

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Forever Young.”If there were a real Fountain of Youth, would you drink the water?

image

Drink it?! More like take a bath in it!!! LOL

Actually, in all seriousness, aging doesn’t frighten or upset me. I’ve never NOT looked forward to my birthday. I entered my 50’s with gusto and I haven’t looked back, even with the aches and pains…As far as I’m concerned, there is no handbook on how to be a 50 something……hence I still dress the way I like to…..love my converse ….. I got my belly button pierced for my 50th birthday along with my continuous addiction to my ink….I march to the beat of my own drummer , actually I play the tambourine…

The negative way aging is portrayed in the media is a travesty as far as I’m concerned…….with all the informercials saturating t.v promising youthful skin, instant weight loss etc., it’s no wonder self-esteem in women of all ages is so low…….seems like there’s always someone coming up with the next magic pill or lotion that will be our ‘fountain of youth’…. And if we just pay X-amount of dollars we too can recapture our youth………exactly who’s in charge of deciding how we’re suppose to look and act at any given age anyway!?!?!   I’m human, and I have fallen for some of those said promises in the past only to find there is no magic potion…….sooooooooooo

image

….I adhere to my own ‘ritual’ of sorts. I no longer spend tons of money on all kinds of expensive products. Actually my fountain of youth of late is Dove soap and a moisturizer and sunscreen…..eating right and drinking lots of water …. But the real key for me is to not dwell on my age but to Live My Life………so, with all my babble, if the fountain of youth was discovered would I drink the water….Hell Yeah, I’m not that stupid that I’d pass it up!!!! LOL

Sunday Blessings……

“What is a blessing? It is a circle of light drawn around a person to protect, heal, and strengthen.” …. It is a gracious invocation where the human heart pleads with the divine heart…..

“When a blessing is invoked, a window opens in eternal time.” ~John ÓDonohue~
Woke way before the sun this morning and so glad I did. Did my yoga, made coffee and got to enjoy the view of the man in the moon from my front porch along with the gorgeous symphony of crickets….

How Blessed I am to start my day not only with the smiling face of the moon, but also with the warming rays of the sun…..

…..and a pony thrown in for good measure

….when the pain gets to be to much…when I find myself wallowing……I know it’s time to start counting my Blessings. I don’t keep a specific gratitude journal as I do practice gratitude on a daily basis…..but even then, I still have those moments when I need a little reminder………

“For Equilibrium, a Blessing:
Like the joy of the sea coming home to shore,

May the relief of laughter rinse through your soul.

As the wind loves to call things to dance,

May your gravity by lightened by grace.

Like the dignity of moonlight restoring the earth,

May your thoughts incline with reverence and respect.

As water takes whatever shape it is in,

So free may you be about who you become.

As silence smiles on the other side of what’s said,

May your sense of irony bring perspective.

As time remains free of all that it frames,

May your mind stay clear of all it names.

May your prayer of listening deepen enough

to hear in the depths the laughter of god.”

~John O’Donohue, To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings~

It’s A Cloud Thing…..

“Having your head in the clouds is not a bad thing… as long as you take advantage of the inspiration you find while you’re there.” ~Misty Dawn Seidel~

“The hares of the dawn’ — the ingenuous metaphor of the cowboy poet — are the little round clouds on the horizon behind the dark fringe of the thicket, golden in the sunrise.” ~ Rómulo Gallegos, Doña Bárbara~

“The beauty of white clouds:Every morning brings new clouds and sunshine.”  ~Lailah Gfty Akita~

“The air up there in the clouds is very pure and fine, bracing and delicious. And why shouldn’t it be?–it is the same the angels breathe.” ~Mark Twain~

The night walked down the sky with the moon in her hand. ~Frederick L. Knowles~

….and this all came about because I was listening to Carly Simon singing….”I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee….”
