Photo Challenge……Beneath My Feet

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Beneath Your Feet.”

“Yoga is the practice of quieting the mind.” ~Patanjali~

It would have been very easy for me to just post a photo of my beach walks as I have plenty of beneath my feet shots from my Strolls. Instead, I chose to share my yoga mat….I am a yogi-wannabe. My practice is my own,,,it’s not pretty, as I have physical limitations and pain that prevent me from doing certain things…..I almost let those things stop me from practicing, but after much thought, and conversation with myself, I realized I had to stop fighting myself… I decided to Not let those limitations stop me from doing my practice….I just had to modify how I do certain poses,,,,hence its my own practice, one I’ve come to love and need.

“Your life is a sacred journey. It is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way. You are on the path… exactly where you are meant to be right now… And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love.” ~ by Caroline Adams~

  1. Nothing is truly ours until we make it our own. That’s why I think for people who practice traditional faith if they’ve never taken a break from it or walked away completely, they really have never had to struggle with the angel to make their faith their own. The part I have trouble with is the movement as she mentions in the post. Three discs out at the bottom of my back make it pert impossible for me to get down on the floor. Have tried some Tai Chi. I like that. Need a class. Wondering how I’m going to do this time with my three little ruffian grandsons in September as my back is approaching time to fix it. They always want me to get down on the floor and play. You’d laugh if you could see THAT process. 😀 But getting UP is worse! 😦

Have something to share....I'd love to hear it!!!
