Perfectly Imperfect…..

What Is My Idea Of Perfection? This is our Sandbox Challenge this week! Impromptu Promptlings Sandbox Challenge

My immediate response when I read our challenge and the word perfection, was gazing into my newborn children’s eyes after hours of labor…and later, my grandchildren’s. There will never be another Perfect Moment such of those……..

Then my thoughts went to a book I read a few years ago and the concept of Wabi Sabi. I actually had this quote highlighted.

“Appreciation manifests joy. We don’t need to live by some impossible standard to have a joyful, contributive, ‘enlightened’ existence. We don’t need to become someone else or wait until things become ‘perfect’ to appreciate the whole of our lives.”

Broadly, wabi-sabi is everything that today’s sleek, mass-produced, technology-saturated culture isn’t. It’s flea markets, not shopping malls; aged wood, not swank floor coverings; one single morning glory, not a dozen red roses. Wabi-sabi understands the tender, raw beauty of a gray December landscape and the aching elegance of an abandoned building or shed. It celebrates cracks and crevices and rot and all the other marks that time and weather and use leave behind. To discover wabi-sabi is to see the singular beauty in something that may first look decrepit and ugly.

Wabi-sabi reminds us that we are all transient beings on this planet—that our bodies, as well as the material world around us, are in the process of returning to dust. Nature’s cycles of growth, decay, and erosion are embodied in frayed edges, rust, liver spots. Through wabi-sabi, we learn to embrace both the glory and the melancholy found in these marks of passing time. mind and body/wabi sabi

Besides, I believe the definition of perfection is as individual and diverse as we are. I prefer, at this stage of my life, to see and embrace the imperfect perfections………

Songs About The Moon 🌝🌛

The Monday Music Medicine Show…So my beautiful Monday Music Medicine Show friends, what songs, and singers who brought these songs to us, comes to mind when you think of the “inconstant,” moon? Please share the songs that fit this situation. You know I want to hear it……………
We had cloud cover in the forecast, but the clouds were no where to be seen when the moon came up. I said hello, laid down and got up in time to see the eclipse. I am not a night person, but glad I was able to experience the ‘super, blood moon’……

I’m an America Fan..

A little Neil Young…

..and a little Bruno Mars

Enjoy 🌕🌛🌝🌘
