First Of November-Sunday Sunrise

“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape – the loneliness of it,

the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.”

~Andrew Wyeth~

(Mimosas at sunrise, on the beach is definitely a treat!) WPC Treat

“The thinnest yellow light of November is more warming and exhilarating than any wine they tell of.
The mite which November contributes becomes equal in value to the bounty of July.”

~Henry David Thoreau~

November In Half Moon Bay

Heavy mist beyond Pillar Point-

how many times waves beat upon the coast,

then withdrew?

I feel only that stumbling of my heart

at the sight of the sea-

the nakedness of the Pacific in winter,

the pensive moods of the gulls-

And it is this tumult

beside the sea that haunts,

Salt in my veins.

(Just purchased this beautiful little book of poems. It’s a must for any nature lover! And a real Treat)
