Clear and blurry is my world these days. As I mentioned a few weeks ago , I’ve lost the vision in my right eye. That’s still the case. Looks like I’m dealing with a Vitreous Hemorrhage. Now my eyesight is far from perfect anyway, but let me say how humbling it is to find myself dealing with this. I’m hopeful that my vision, as imperfect as it may be, will be restored. In the meantime, while my view is distorted, I can still see out of my left eye. 😉
Ok…..let me see…there’s that photography coffee table book that I’ve been wanting to do for, hmmmmmmmmm 🤔🤔🤔🤔 must be going on 7 years now. Then there’s my other book, the one that incorporates my words with my photos. See in the beginning, I didn’t think or believe I had anything to say or that I could possibly write, or that anyone would listen or be interested or want to read anything I had to share……….I had and still have a few cheerleaders and believers in my corner. One of those people, who was there ‘in the beginning’ is someone I care for and trust and I aspire to be like. She was a news anchor who is now, not only a published author, she is a life coach. Along with a fellow writer, they are hosting a write/publish/promote weekend in August. I’m interested, there’s no doubt about that. A weekend away and the opportunity to work with these amazing women in a beautiful serene setting would be wonderful. But I’m sitting here second guessing myself and my abilities once again. I guess I’m struggling with my own self-confidence and the fear of failure. The fee isn’t cheap. So I am asking myself-Am I worth the investment?!?

To Be Continued……….which means I have not made a decision yet 😬
It’s mind boggling to me how the hell I got here?!? Seriously…if you had told me 444 days ago that I’d be ringing in the second New Year without Jim I’d say there would have been no way…….Yet, I Am here. Not only am I here, I’m surviving AND thriving! How freakin’ cool is that?!?!? Awesomely cool if you ask me!!!! I decided last minute that I wouldn’t spend the night at my daughters, opting instead to come home early, pop a bottle of bubbly, watch a favorite movie of ours New Years Eve and ring in the new year in my own space in my own way!! The movie may not have gotten rave reviews, but it fell into Jims category of happy movies and as far as I’m concerned anything with Bon Jovi in it is a score in my book 😊 here’s a little sneaky peak…gotta love it….
So I spent this New Years Eve, in my own space ..alone and ya know what?!? It was really OK. More then ok. No real tears to speak of, no self imposed pity-party. It was an ok evening, spent in quiet company with myself, my memories and a few phone calls and messages………..
Got up this morning…..excited to start this new day and Year……..a new Journal was given to me by one of my Earth Angels and it’s anxiously waiting for me and my pen….
In the meantime…I’m looking forward to looking forward…..there are new discoveries to be made and I’m ready for some digging 😉 Hope y’all up for some new adventures ’cause I’d love for you to tag along…………..
Happy New Year to all of you, my WordPress Family. I’d like to thank you for your kind words and support over the past year, and especially the last 11 weeks……………I’m determined to make 2017 an amazing one. I Believe it’s fair to say that my word for the year just may be CHANGE. As best as I can, I’m going to embrace the changes to come……those of you who are willing to tag along, I thank you………I’m braver with back-up 😊
Today, I’m embarking on a 40 day reading journey. I’ll be joined with a few thousand of my fellow readers and fans revisiting the story and adventures of Diana and Matthew, via The Discovery Of Witches: Deborah Harkness’s …. All Souls Trilogy ………
I read Chapter 1 early this morning by the warm glow of Halloween Lights
THE DISCOVERY OF WITCHES
When historian Diana Bishop opens a bewitched alchemical manuscript in Oxford’s Bodleian Library it represents an unwelcome intrusion of magic into her carefully ordinary life. Though descended from a long line of witches, she is determined to remain untouched by her family’s legacy. She banishes the manuscript to the stacks, but Diana finds it impossible to hold the world of magic at bay any longer.
For witches are not the only otherworldly creatures living alongside humans. There are also creative, destructive daemons and long-lived vampires who become interested in the witch’s discovery. They believe that the manuscript contains important clues about the past and the future, and want to know how Diana Bishop has been able to get her hands on the elusive volume.
Chief among the creatures who gather around Diana is vampire Matthew Clairmont, a geneticist with a passion for Darwin. Together, Diana and Matthew embark on a journey to understand the manuscript’s secrets. But the relationship that develops between the ages-old vampire and the spellbound witch threatens to unravel the fragile peace that has long existed between creatures and humans—and will certainly transform Diana’s world as well.
Deborah is providing those of us caught up in this adventure a schedule and Real-Time Reading Companion(free download!!) The hardest part for me is going to be ‘disciplining’ myself to stop and wait to continue….this story totally sucks you in. I. Love. This. Trilogy!!
“Message from Deborah”
Around September 2008, I started writing what would turn out to be A Discovery of Witches. As many of you know, the main action of the book takes place over forty days between September 21 and October 31. Diana Bishop’s first encounter with Ashmole 782, however, occurred on September 18. Why not read or re-read A Discovery of Witches as the action elapses? Some days have more than one chapter, and others have none at all, but it’s interesting to read it and have just as much time as Diana and Matthew did to absorb the enormous changes happening to them, and all around them. It may give you new insights.
Please note: because the action of the book starts on a Friday, the days of the week will be wrong, but the dates are right and you will end up, as they did, on Halloween.”
