Cat Caracelo popped up in my FB newsfeed as a sponsor ad a week or so ago. I felt an immediate pull, so I clicked on her link 12 Nights Of Solstice I am so happy I did so.It’s just what I need as I enter into this winter and new year.
I’m excited on so many levels to be participating on this journey. I feel stirrings within. An Awakening is occurring and I’m ready to embrace this part of me and my journey. I’m excited to discover a new inner light..I ‘see’ a forging of old and new, and this excites me.
Last nights first mediation and Solstice prompt inspired this painting and tanka…
“A time of deep darkness and the turning of the wheel. This is the time of nesting, resting and journeying…This is a time of connecting with your inner light. This is a time of finding your way along the path to the longest night, the Winter Solstice.”
It’s been a full week since I attended the #writepublishpromote writers incentive retreat. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the entire experience. I wanted to share the grounds the retreat was held at. St. Francis Springs Prayer Centerproved to be the ideal place for me to be. The peaceful serene setting truly is a healing place. The fact that Saint Francis was my favorite Patron Saint as a little girl was not lost to the adult ‘child’ I am now 😊
I was excited there was a labyrinth on the grounds. I’d always wanted to stroll one….Early morning Soul-Strolls walking the labyrinth is how I started each morning.
A small waterfall was also on the grounds……there was no denying the positive energy my entire being was absorbing….
Of course I was surrounded by the ‘Dear Old Ones’ 💚🌳
And here’s a small sampling of the art work that caught my eye. Yep, there is a certain rhythm to these 😊🌳
All-In-All this was not, at least for me, just a Writing Incentive Retreat. This truly was a Spiritual Awakening as well. I’m still having a hard time finding the words to describe it all. Writers Block?!?! How’s that for irony?!?!? Was on a writers retreat and I’m at a loss for words…but I know they will come!!!!!
OK…..another week of digging over at The Sandbox Writing Challenge. We’re asked the following: If you could foresee one accomplishment in your future, what would you like it to be?
My first reaction and answer has to be, my children are my greatest accomplishment..being Blessed with the gift of being their mother is by far the most fulfilling part of my life……and how exciting it is to sit on the sidelines and watch as their lives and the lives of their families grow.
If this question was posed to me a week and a half ago, my answer would have been completely different then it is today. For today, if I was gazing into a crystal ball of my making, I’d see myself happily driving my Subaru, not north to the Eastern Shore of my past, but West to visit the Redwood National State Forest…..and visiting as many of the State Parks as I can along the way……….my gypsy soul is Awakening. It has been for some time, though with Jims death it became silent. I am finding as I continue on this journey of mine, as I continue to grow, my gypsy soul is finding its voice once again. It’s not loud. Right now it’s more like a soft, soothing melody, but I’m ready to start singing along.
Another accomplishment is the continued healing that’s occurring between my sister and I. As we continue our reunion it’s with the hopes that our other sister will find her way to open herself up and join us……….this reunion and healing that’s taking place is beyond anything I thought could happen and is so very cool 😎
March’s arrival brings with it
The last vestiges of a winter
Bound to hang on….
While early glimmers of Spring
Begin to appear.
As Natures clock continues to tick
Rebirth and renewal expound,
After my own winters exile,
I feel the warmth and rumblings
Of my own awakening…..
