Here we are in Day 11 of the 21-Day Meditation Experience….is all about improving upon our own self-awareness.
Day 11 – Awareness Is a Skill You Can Master
“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” – Charlotte Brontë
Self-awareness is not just something you either have or you don’t – it’s a skill you can improve upon. In today’s meditation, we learn that we improve our awareness skills with three basic practices. First, we learn to pay attention to what is happening in our environment. Second, the skill of focusing attention allows us to explore our experiences with clarity and without judgment. And finally, by learning the skill of stillness, or wholeness, we allow awareness to encompass the entirety of our experience as our own self. All these skills together as one mode of knowingness gives us the creative awareness that prevents life from getting stuck.
TODAYS CENTERING THOUGHT
Oprahs message and story of Being Still and of finding her Spiritual Moment was one that stood out for me today. Hers happened upon a hike up a mountain…I’ve experience mine on my Soul Strolls…both along the beach and my hikes in the forest…..though the Stillness is open to interpretation…Even with the ebb and flow of the ocean, or the gentle sway of the treetops, there is Still an ‘air of Stillness’ that overcomes me…..an awareness of All That I Am and All Of My Blessings…Namaste 🙏
Love the equation of Attention/ Focus/ Stillness/ giving us the answer of Creative Awarenss..and all its possibilities!
Om Pragyanam Asmi
My true self is pure intelligence.
Week 2 of the 21- Day Meditation Experience has started. Here we are on Day 8…..
Day 8 – Let Your Awareness Do the Work
“Because everything happens in the moment of Now we also happen in the moment of Now: continually, effortlessly, truly.” – Joseph Rain
Society teaches us that we need to struggle and strive to overcome obstacles, that to get unstuck we need to push and fight our way through. But struggling never solves the root problem of limited awareness.
In today’s meditation, we learn that our higher self is not only unlimited, it is also creative, powerful, and intelligent. If we learn to abide in our essential being, its organizing power will effortlessly find choices and solutions for us.
TODAYS CENTERING THOUGHT
When I am aware, I ‘Flow’ …with ease and I trust my Spirit to guide me as I go about my day……..
Today’s meditation was a welcome one after my previous POST. Many of the Sandbox Writing Challenges are just that…challenging. They are also therapeutic in nature…..purging and dealing with my past, along with my meditation practice, has been an integral part of my healing………the Mantra was spot on for today 🙏
Om Kamakshi Namah
My true self nurtures and supports my life.
Well, Day 5 of my 21- Day Meditation Experience is all about getting my brain on board!😄
Day 5 – Rising Above Your Old Conditioning
“We first make our habits, and then our habits make us.” – John Dryden
In today’s meditation, we learn that our old conditioning isn’t just mental, it’s also physical and shows itself as unconscious brain responses. If we let our conditioned brains be in charge, we remain stuck in old, predictable patterns. We become biological robots. To break free of this habitual behavior we need to cultivate self-awareness. In meditation we recognize our true self to be ever-present awareness, and in this self-knowing, we become free from the conditioned responses of our minds and bodies.
TODAYS CENTERING THOUGHT
Getting the brain on board is something that I am continuously working at. I FEEL in my heart what I need and want to do,,but I always let those doubts and thoughts that are keeping me stuck get the best of me…….I’m setting my intention to take charge of my thoughts..and turn the self doubt talk into positive reinforcement that I Know what’s best for me and I Believe in the path I’m setting for myself!!!!
I am Nature’s creativity and intelligence.
Today, Day 17 of the 21 Day Meditation Experience, talked about the games our minds can play…and how Awareness is one of the keys of change. I Am Aware that the old mind games are of no service to me. I Am more than just my thoughts…..I Am Peace, I Am Joy, I Am Love, And Light.
I am aware and I accept that this, my present moment, is exactly where I am suppose to be. 🙏
Day 17-Centering Thought
Day 17 – Winning the Mind Game
“Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.” ― Lao Tzu
The mind game consists of the tricks your mind plays on you, making you see reality according to old memories, fears, wounds, prejudices, outworn beliefs, second-hand opinions, and early conditioning. When you are aware your mind is filtering your reality based on the past, you can change it with that awareness. In fact, awareness is the change.
Our meditation today brings us into present awareness.
My true self is wide awake.
