30 Days Of Gratitude…Day 15…Coffee with A View. ☕️

“Sometimes you have to stop what you’re doing and really take everything in. Life can be hectic and it can be stressful, filled with anxiety, anger, sadness and fear. Allow yourself to slow down, take even just a few minutes out of your day to tilt your head back and close your eyes. Just breathe everything in…the sun rising and shining, the smell of the great outdoors, the warmth and steam of a cup of coffee in hand, your heartbeat, the cozy clothes on your body, the love from a family member or friend, and then, Thank God for His Blessings, of which there are many.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
~James 1:17~

O Lord my God, thank you that you are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. The Bible says that you are a Good Father who gives us good gifts. When I wake every morning may I be filled with thanksgiving for the gift of another day. When I lie down to sleep may I respond in gratitude to the many blessings you have given me each day. May I grow in the grace and knowledge of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To you be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Here We Go……

Well,,,it’s that time of year again….school starts. Tourists leave (I’m happy dancing!) and the biggie..hurricane season is upon us……this was just posted on our towns FB Page..

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 09/02/2016 1100

The Town of Chincoteague’s Emergency Management Team continues to monitor local weather conditions and forecasts.

The Town is currently monitoring the progress of Tropical Storm Hermine and the National Hurricane Center’s forecast. The possibility for northeast winds, heavy rains, and moderate tidal flooding exists starting late tonight through Monday morning.

Winds are forecasted at 30-40mph from the NE and gusting to over 50mph at times through Sunday night. Rains will be heavy at times with accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. Tidal flooding at moderate levels may occur Saturday evening through Monday morning.

Residents and visitors are reminded to be aware of low lying areas, do not drive through standing water, and secure loose outdoor items for this event.

There is the possibility for power outages, downed trees, and road closures.

Currently, the track of the storm will have effects on Chincoteague Island and citizens are urged to take this opportunity to also prepare.

Preparedness should include securing loose outdoor items; having enough medications for at least one week for any medical needs; ensure that your vehicles are fueled and have cash available as fuel pumps and ATM’s will not work if the power should fail. Have enough non-perishable food and water to last for at least 3-5 days. Have fresh batteries and flashlights available. Also, do not forget supplies for your pets.

VDOT will monitor the causeway and will notify the Town approximately one hour prior to closing, should that be necessary. The Town will notify citizens by our reverse 911 system and other media outlets.

Please monitor local media outlets, http://www.chincoteague-va.gov, also, like us on Facebook for updated information.

My Morning Melody ☕️🎼

Was up early……it’s amazing the things that’ll pop in your head….this is what came to mind at 4:30 this morning ☕️
Lying in my bed awake,

Through closed doors

I listened.

To an early morning serenade,

Just beginning its audition.

With the humming of the coffee grinder

He sings his muffled song.

Bringing those beans to life

With the chorus of the dawn.

Cast iron pan,

Banging heavily on the stove.

Onions chopped,

Flame is lit,

All ready for the show.

As coffee drips

And bacon sizzles,

His song is being sung.

To the early morning melody

Of the rising sun.

Oh,

The coffee smells heavenly,

As its filling the pot.

While the bacon”s frying

To a crisp,

It’s all gonna hit the spot.

Not sure how much longer

I can lay here and listen.

To the music and the melody,

Of my husband’s singing kitchen.

Coffee With A Friend=Therapy ☕️

Writing 101 Day 11: update your readers over a cup of coffee…..

If we were having coffee right now I’d inquire as to how you and your family were doing. Hoping all was going well in your world, and I can see by the roll in your eyes, hubby’s driving you crazy…which would lead me to…

If we were having coffee right now I’d tell you there was going to be some major changes coming for me/us. Retirement and all that comes with it. I’d tell you that I’m excited, scared, apprehensive, Excited!!! I’d tell you that I’m not afraid of change, but, hubster can’t wait to be with me 24-7 😜😜😜 and I need my ‘me’ time!!! Stop laughing!!!!

If we were having coffee right now I’d share the news that my Son-in-law had started an old/new job, meaning he went back to his old place of employment. He’s a truck driver, and his old employer wanted him back, and over the road pays more. My daughter is used to his being gone, as he’s been at this on and off since they’ve been together.

If we were having coffee right now I’d be telling you that Grandbaby #5, who is due in April, is a little girl 💗 That’ll be 3 girls and 2 boys, and I’m so incredibly blessed. I’d tell you that all the kids are well.
If we were having coffee right now I would be making us cup number 2 to take into the living room, sit by the fireplace and talk about how therapeutic our Coffee-Therapy-Tuesday’s are. We’re both in agreement as to how beneficial they are, as well as how much money we save on medical bills!!!!!!
