Inside the Bubble
A contagious disease requires you to be put into quarantine for a whole month (don’t worry, you get well by the time you’re free to go!). How would you spend your time in isolation?
As someone who relishes her alone time, on the surface this sounds doable…..but being under quarantine means no cuddle time with hubby, no morning soul strolls, both of which are imperative to my well being…
But, if I was to be isolated for a month, hopefully I would still have access to my books and journals…as well as my IPad and phone so I could stay connected to loved ones. In this day and age…a month of isolation with Netflix would be a breeze…….and if said isolation coincided with the brutal winter months all the better…….So long as the above said disease doesn’t have me bed ridden and totally incompacitated, give me my Mr. Coffee, my yoga mat and I’ll make a months isolation as beneficial as I can…..
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Forever Young.”If there were a real Fountain of Youth, would you drink the water?
Drink it?! More like take a bath in it!!! LOL
Actually, in all seriousness, aging doesn’t frighten or upset me. I’ve never NOT looked forward to my birthday. I entered my 50’s with gusto and I haven’t looked back, even with the aches and pains…As far as I’m concerned, there is no handbook on how to be a 50 something……hence I still dress the way I like to…..love my converse ….. I got my belly button pierced for my 50th birthday along with my continuous addiction to my ink….I march to the beat of my own drummer , actually I play the tambourine…
The negative way aging is portrayed in the media is a travesty as far as I’m concerned…….with all the informercials saturating t.v promising youthful skin, instant weight loss etc., it’s no wonder self-esteem in women of all ages is so low…….seems like there’s always someone coming up with the next magic pill or lotion that will be our ‘fountain of youth’…. And if we just pay X-amount of dollars we too can recapture our youth………exactly who’s in charge of deciding how we’re suppose to look and act at any given age anyway!?!?! I’m human, and I have fallen for some of those said promises in the past only to find there is no magic potion…….sooooooooooo
….I adhere to my own ‘ritual’ of sorts. I no longer spend tons of money on all kinds of expensive products. Actually my fountain of youth of late is Dove soap and a moisturizer and sunscreen…..eating right and drinking lots of water …. But the real key for me is to not dwell on my age but to Live My Life………so, with all my babble, if the fountain of youth was discovered would I drink the water….Hell Yeah, I’m not that stupid that I’d pass it up!!!! LOL

Tell us about the last time you had a real, deep, crying-from-laughing belly laugh.
Actually, this morning, because this video clip popped up on my FB news feed…..the caption read, be careful cause you will spit out your drink….in my case it was my morning cup of coffee…….totally lost it! 😂
Id forgotten how much I loved watching this show……..
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Today Was a Good Day.”
I have so many, and can go in so many directions with this prompt. I decided to share the day I was able to cross horse back riding on the beach off my bucket list. Now, my ride wasn’t a beautiful, warm summer day….I went on a beautiful, crisp, cold day in December. I had the chance to ride on ‘our’ beach with some of the saltwater Cowboys,,,,,,pretty darn good for a gal who grew up loving horses from NJ.
“When I bestride him, I soar, I am a hawk: he trots the air; the earth sings when he touches it; the basest horn of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes. ”
~William Shakespeare, Henry V~
So, here I am with Dixie, my riding partner. She’s a pretty little paint.
Now, you can’t tell I was shaking in my boots. The last time I sat/rode a horse, I was 18!!!
Here I am with John, Dixie’s owner and a 100% Teager Saltwater Cowboy!!
The best part…The entire 3 hour ride. Yes folks,,my tender butt was in the saddle for 3 hours!!! We trotted, we walked in the surf and I was in complete heaven!! It was a Great Day!!!!!!
“In riding a horse, we borrow freedom”
BTW…I attempted to insert a Mesh Gallery and couldn’t figure it out…may take another pot of coffee!!!
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Red Pill, Blue Pill.”
If you could get all the nutrition you needed in a day with a pill — no worrying about what to eat, no food preparation — would you do it?
In a word…..NOPE! I love food. Period.
Funny that this was today’s prompt, as I was going to blog about a little winery not far from where I live that we enjoy going to……wine and pizza…so much better than a pill!! It’s a quaint little place that only serves pizza on Saturdays…
*Cheers* and a little Red Kiss 💋🍷
Life’s way to short not to enjoy. Given a choice between popping a pill or enjoying something as simple as homemade pizza and wine,,,I’ll take another slice and glass please!!!!
“I enjoy cooking with wine, sometimes I even put it in the food…” ~Julia Child~
And quite honestly…who wants a pill when you can have dark chocolate…come on folks!! lol
Proven to lower blood pressure and prevent strokes….so much better than a pill!!!
“Chemically speaking, chocolate really is the world’s perfect food. ”
