GLADvent Day 4: LEARNING

Today’s word and quote for Harula’s GLADvent Day 4 is Learning. (Now take a moment to pause and reflect upon how Learning has shown up in your life recently; what did you learn (or teach)? Was it a conscious choice, or did life just throw you a lesson you were ready and willing to catch? Where will this learning take you?!)

LEARNING: “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places that you’ll go” – (the inimitable, the fantabulousest…) Dr Seuss

What have I recently LEARNED is that I’m a helluva lot stronger than I ever gave myself credit for. If you had asked me 2 months ago how I would handle losing my Best Friend, I’d have told you I wouldn’t handle it, that I’d go off the deep end. Talk about being thrown into a situation I wasn’t ready for!

But that didn’t happen. Instead, as painful as this experience is, our (mine and Jims) Beliefs and the strength of our Love has helped guide me along this part of my journey. I’m taking it one day, one moment at a time..babysteps. I’m LEARNING how to walk through this part of my life on my own….

There’s a lot of LEARNING ahead of me. For the first time in my adult life, I am ‘alone’. Though I will Always talk and bounce things off  Jim, and ‘listen’ and watch for his signs, I will have to LEARN how to really listen to myself….Yes, I’ve a lot of LEARNING ahead of me…….

For the first time in my life, my decisions are just that,,,mine. Time to LEARN a whole new mindset

“A star falls from the sky and into your hands. Then it seeps through your veins and swims inside your blood and becomes every part of you. And then you have to put it back into the sky. And it’s the most painful thing you’ll ever have to do and that you’ve ever done. But what’s yours is yours. Whether it’s up in the sky or here in your hands. And one day, it’ll fall from the sky and hit you in the head real hard and that time, you won’t have to put it back in the sky again.” ~ C. JoyBell C.~
