Getting To Know Me…New Year, New Stuff

Happy New Year…I’ve enjoyed participating in Cee’s Share Your World…..I started in July/August 2015…now I get to start with Week 1!!!

As a child, who was your favorite relative? Hands down, my Grandpa (on mothers side). We’re coming up on the 18th anniversary of his passing this month, and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him.

If you could be a tree or plant, what would you be? A Tree….no doubt about that! My birth tree is Pine, but I also have an affinity for Weeping Willows…though I Love all trees!

What would be your preference, awake before dawn or awake before noon? Most who follow my blog and/or know me Know awake before dawn is my favorite time of day! Watching the sun rise each morning is such a gift.

“That time of day when the sun hasn’t come up yet, but you can already feel it coming. It’s an elusive warmth, like a subtle promise whispered in your ear and you can go on with your day knowing you’ve been given another chance to get it right.” ~Cassia Leo~

Would you like to sleep in a human size nest in a tree or be snuggled in a burrowed spot underground?  Definetly a nest…to claustrophobic to sleep underground 😬

Any of these would do 😄 (photo via Pinterest)

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? I’m grateful for the news of Grandbaby #6 for me in 2016. Now, not only is my son and daughter in law expecting their little girl in April…my ‘baby’ Kristen and son in law are expecting her 3rd child in August! I’m so incredibly Blessed.

The cold temps have arrived here on the island….wind chill was a big fat zero when I woke up…looking forward to the warmer temps coming back later on the week!!

Welcome To My World 🌎

Happy Monday Folks!! Time for……..Cee’s Share Your World 2015: Week #50

Favorite thing to photograph? Write? Or Cook? For me, it’s photographing nature in all its glory. I feel blessed when I’m presented with the opportunity to capture a moment.

Like this hawk, who just happened to be outside my window.

Did you like swinging as a child? Do you still get excited when you see a swing?  I did. Back then, we were outside all the time. I do still enjoy it, now more so as a Nana pushing my grandchildren…

What has surprised you about blogging? When I started this blog a few years ago, I didn’t really keep up with it..until signing up and participating in Blogging 101 in July. It has been an amazing journey since then. I’ve been fortunate to have come in contact with some amazing people, photographers, writers, mothers and fathers, young and ageless 😄. Through some of these meetings, I’ve started to step out of my comfort zone, and in doing so, I’m evolving and finding my voice…

List at least five favorite desserts.

Ice cream..bowl, cone, doesn’t matter.

Molten lava cake…

A jar of Jif and a spoon makes Linda a very happy woman 😄

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to?
I’m grateful for the beautiful, unseasonably warm temps that have made my Souls Strolls feel like spring.

I’m looking forward to an early Chritmas present from out landlord…a new refrigerator is coming this week!!!

Share Your World – 2015 Week #36

If you were a pen, what type, style and color would you be? At the moment, this little Bic has been doing the trick for me, in black. I love colored pens, but when I’m journaling, it has to be black.

How many languages do you you speak? I speak one…English. Though I live in Virginia, I was born and raised in New Jersey…and it is true what they say…You can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can’t take the Jersey out of the girl….

Are you a listener or talker? I’d say I’m both….I can get a good gab going, yet I know when I need to keep quiet and just listen…

Rather Have: Which would you rather have, 2 million dollars or true love?  I’m rich in the love department..being married to my BFF. So, I’ll be happy to take that 2 mill off your hands!

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? Hands down, I’m grateful for getting to spend the past 3 days with my son, his fiancé and my grandson….we did nothing but hang out, eat a lot of seafood and just enjoyed being together with no agenda……………..I’m looking forward hubby working more ‘normal’ hours this week and hopefully slowing down….

Cee’s Share Your World
What made you feel good this week?  What did it for me was getting pictures texted to me of my grandchildren. I LOVE getting an unexpected picture and/or text in the middle of my day…..though I live 6 hours away, they keep me feeling connected….my granddaughter Emily spent the weekend riding in the mud…my grandson Landon started soccer….and Mason and Jemma just get to look cute! ❤️ I’m so totally Blessed!

For potlucks or parties do you cook it yourself, buy from a grocery store, or pay for catering? I usually make a dessert……the last time I did so I made the Pioneer Woman’s Brownies….OMG…out of this world!

Pioneer Woman’s Mocha Brownies

What is your favorite part of the town/city you live in. And what Country do you live?  I live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, on a small island called Chincoteague…(beautiful land across the water) .  For me, my favorite part of living here is living by the water…..we’ve got marsh lands, the wildlife refuge and beach….I’ll always be a ‘come here’, but I’m a ‘Teager’ in Spirit.

Complete this sentence: My favorite place in the whole world…..There is no place I’d rather be than by my mans side. My hubby is my home. As long as I’m breathing, he’s where I want to be………❤️

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  I’m grateful for the cooler temps we had so I was able to turn the AC off and open the windows for a few days….don’t get me wrong, I’m also grateful we have AC when the temps and humidity are killer……..I’m looking forward to the 3 day weekend, my son is coming down with his family…I get to be mom and nana for a few days!!!!
