Even on the darkest of days
When the clouds obscure the light.
There will always be an opening,
The clouds will come
Of this there’s no doubt.
But so long as I have
An open heart,
Will Shine Through.
“There is a LIGHT in this world. A healing spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter. We sometime lose sight of this force when there is suffering, and too much pain. Then suddenly, the spirit will emerge through the lives of ordinary people who hear a call and answer in extraordinary ways.” ~Richard Attenborough~

THE Sandbox Writing Challenge 7- What Makes You Shine Welcome back to The Sandbox Writing Challenge! This week’s challenge MAY be an easy one for you, but maybe NOT! What is about you or that you do that makes you stand out from those around you? It’s hard for some of us to give ourselves the kudos we truly deserve, so here’s your chance to do just that. (And we all LOVE you, so go for it with gusto!) Don’t hold back now!
Ok Calen,,,giving us more digging to do! Is it a coincidence that the word Shine has popped up quite a bit for me today? As an answer to a fun fact blogging survey earlier…this assignment…and I was just humbly nominated for a Sunshine Award,,,,,hmmmmmmmm!
What makes me Shine? I have no clue. A few people started calling me Sunshine a few years ago and it stuck. I believe it started out because of my love and photos of my sunrises that I post along with positive quotes. I choose to start each day that way, regardless of what’s going on out in the world or around me. I find starting it out on a positive note helps set the tone for my day (it doesn’t always work, but it helps none-the-less). Over time, a lot of my FB family and friends have come to look forward to my early morning, and as they call them, Pick-Me-Up Posts.
I’ve have been ‘accused’ of walking through life with Rose Colored Glasses on by some negative Nelly’s. They’re entitled to their opinion and their negativity. My life is no bed of roses, but I’ll continue to wear my rose colored glasses proudly……and I’ll ‘wear’ the nickname Sunshine proudly as well…..And I will continue to let my inner light shine, even on my darkest of days,,,and believe me I have them.
“We are souls, eternal and perfect, captains of our mystic ships: gods and goddesses of our universe. We are beautiful, we pearls of grit. We, the ember of everything. Our uniqueness IS what makes us special, and the expression of it is our gift to the rest of us. In order to feel happy and fulfilled, we must honour our own personal brand of creativity… let it out into the world… BE who we came here to BE.” ~Angie Karan~ SHINE ON……..
